AshGold SC Talisman Appiah McCarthy ruled out for remainder of season

Ashantigold skipper Appiah McCarthy will miss the rest of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League season due to injury.

The midfielder dynamo failed to recover from an injury he sustained during the game against Legon Cities in Accra.

According to reports from Obuasi, the 24-year-old’s injury was more serious than earlier indicated and after several scans, it has been concluded he will be out for the rest of the campaign.

McCarthy has been a key cog in the Miners season, having bagged three goals in ten games before sustaining the injury setback.

His absence has seen the Miners take a nosedive in performances, struggling to win games and have dropped from the top four to tenth on the table after the first round.

The former Ghana U-20 player has been with the Obuasi based outfit since 2017.
