Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah says he is ready to hit the ground running after rejoining the Porcupine Warriors on loan from Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi.
The 24-year-old has returned to the Kumasi-based club on a loan deal until the end of the season and has explained that his decision was driven by unfinished business with the Ghanaian giants.
Amoah is eager to make an immediate impact as Kotoko push on for success in the remainder of the campaign.
I decided to return to Asante Kotoko to finish what I started. I’ve never won the Ghana Premier League before, and that is one of the main reasons I came back. When you look at the league table, it’s far from over.
There are still many matches to play, and we will work together as a team to make sure we win it.”
Amoah left the club earlier in the season following Asante Kotoko’s heavy defeat to Moroccan side Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Confederation Cup qualifiers, an experience he admits was difficult to process. The forward has since spoken about his determination to return and make things right, describing his comeback as an opportunity to repay the faith of the club and its supporters.
“It was difficult leaving, especially because of how it ended in Morocco. I didn’t even know how to respond to messages. Knowing that so many fans are counting on me has given me a huge boost, and I hope to repay their faith.”
