Former Vision FC and Accra Lions defender Ali Mohammed is close to joining Ghana Premier League giants Hearts of Oak in the ongoing summer transfer window.
The Phobians are executing an aggressive effort to bolster their squad for the new season in an attempt to make a meaningful impact, having finished fourth last season.
The 23-year-old centre-back, who last featured for Vision FC is expected to arrive in Accra on Wednesday morning to undergo his mandatory medical ahead of his switch to the Ghanaian giants.
Despite Aduana FC interest in the rock-solid defender, Hearts of Oak have won the race to secure the signature of the former Tamale City marksman.
He is expected to sign a two-year deal with the Accra-based club upon the completion of his medicals.
Ali Mohammed, who rose to prominence with Vision FC in the Division One League, is considered one of the most promising young defenders in the domestic game. His composure, aerial strength and ability to play from the back have attracted interest from several clubs.
His imminent move to Hearts of Oak marks a great step in his career. He is expected to play a huge role for the Phobians under coach Didi Dramani.
The defender is set to become the third signing for the Phobians after Baba Adamu and Prince Kwabena Owusu.
