Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara has advised goalkeeper Benjamin Asare to use his new car as motivation to further elevate his performances.
Asare recently received the car from Alhaji Seidu Agongo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Class Media Group, during a presentation at the club’s commercial centre.
The gift followed a viral video in March that showed Asare commuting in the front seat of a commercial vehicle shortly after his Black Stars debut, sparking calls for better support for local players.
Ouattara, who has played a key role in Asare’s development, urged him to remain focused despite the growing attention.
“I’ll tell Asare to utilise the car well. He should bear in mind it was as a result of his abilities on the pitch that earned him this prize. He should use the car to help elevate his performances,” Ouattara said.
Asare has been a standout performer this season, keeping 15 clean sheets in 24 league matches as Hearts of Oak aim to close a 10-point gap on league leaders GoldStars with four games remaining.
