We Need Salary Increment, Not Pay Cut – Medeama Star Daniel Egyin Warns Clubs

Former Hasaacas skipper, Daniel Egyin has condemned the idea of a pay cut within Ghana Premier League clubs and has advised the salaries must be increased instead.

Slashing down of salaries has been a topic in recent weeks in the Ghana media circles with Kumasi Asante Kotoko set to the first club to cut down its players wages by 40%

Egyin in an exclusive interview with Takoradi based Spice 91.9 Fm said:

“There is no need for footballers to accept pay cuts in Ghana at this difficult moment, this is rather the time for the club owners to increase salaries for players.

The players are no more entitled to receiving winning bonuses due to the covid19, we are paying electricity bills now, it is not easily taken care of our family members at these difficult times.”
