Ghanaian Forward Joseph Paintsil Delighted With Return From Injury

Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil celebrated a successful return from injury by scoring a key goal in the LA Galaxy’s 4-2 win over Sporting Kansas City in Major League Soccer.

“It feels good,” Paintsil shared. “It always feels good to come back and score, especially on your home field.” The 26-year-old acknowledged the roaring Galaxy fanbase, stating, “I really thank the supporters for welcoming me. It’s really an amazing moment.”

Joseph Paintsil entered the game as a 65th-minute substitute, replacing Mauricio Cuevas. He made an immediate impact, netting the Galaxy’s third goal just ten minutes later. This goal adds to his already impressive tally of 5 goals and 4 assists in MLS this season.

Dejan Joveljic, Gabriel Pec, and Miguel Berry also scored for the Galaxy, while Sporting Kansas City countered with goals from Stephen Afrifa and Robert Castellanos.

The victory keeps LA Galaxy in fifth place on the league table with 31 points after 17 matches. They take on New York City FC in their next league match on June 20. With Paintsil rediscovering his scoring touch upon return, the Galaxy will be looking to climb even higher in the standings.
