Thomas Partey Calls for Support as Ghana Seeks World Cup Qualifying Boost

Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey has urged fans to pack the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic (CAR) on June 10.

“We need your support and I hope we will get it,” Thomas Partey declared, emphasizing the importance of a passionate home crowd for the Black Stars. This comes after a morale-boosting victory against Mali on June 6.

This match marks a return to Kumasi for Partey, who missed Ghana’s clash against CAR in September 2023 due to injury. However, despite his absence, the Black Stars secured a vital victory that booked their ticket to the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

Ghana currently sits in third place within Group I after three games, having secured wins against Madagascar and Mali, with their only defeat coming against Comoros. A victory against the CAR, coupled with favourable results in other matches, could see Ghana take the top spot in the group.

With momentum on their side, Ghana will be looking to continue their winning streak and solidify their position for World Cup qualification. A packed Baba Yara Stadium roaring with support could be the deciding factor in achieving this goal.
