Thomas Partey set to miss out on Champions League football next season

With the uncertainties surrounding the return of football this season, it has been alleged that the Spanish FA has come up with a proposal on how to award European places to Spanish teams should the current campaign be abandoned.

The coronavirus pandemic has brought the world of football to a halt which has resulted in the suspension of many football related activities.

Spain in particular has suffered terribly at the hands of the deadly disease, due to that there have been concerns as to when football will resume in the country.

The FA has therefore moved to counter any potential confusion by proposing that the four teams currently occupying the top four spots in the League will be awarded the European places.(Barcelona, Real Madrid,Sevilla and Real Sociedad).

This proposal would definitely push Atletico Madrid into the Europa League with just a point behind the top four.

If this proposal holds, Atletico Madrid may find it difficult to hold onto the talented midfielder with many of European top clubs looking for an opportunity to sign him.
