Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku praised the Persistent support of Fenerbahce fans following their dramatic 4-2 victory against Adana Demirspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old centre-back took to Twitter, expressing his gratitude: “‘The support and encouragement of our fans, who never stopped silent for 90 minutes, brought us another victory in this perfect atmosphere. Thank you number 12”. (referencing the fans as the team’s 12th player).

Djiku played a key role in the victory, scoring one of Fenerbahce’s four goals. Edin Džeko, Dusan Tadic, and Serdar Dursun also found the net, while Mario Balotelli and Yusuf Baras scored for Adana Demirspor.

The former Strasbourg defender has been a vital contributor for Fenerbahce this season, chipping in with both goals and assists. He has found the net twice and provided two assists in his 20 league appearances.

This win strengthens Fenerbahçe’s position in the title race. The team currently sits second on the league table with 82 points after 31 matches. However, their focus will quickly shift to the upcoming Turkish Cup final against rivals Galatasaray on April 7th.
