Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo had a stellar performance in Elfsborg’s opening match of the 2024 Swedish Allsvenkan season, scoring a goal and assisting another in a 2-2 draw against IFK Värnamo.

The 24-year-old midfielder wasted no time making his mark, grabbing the opening goal in the 11th minute. He then turned provider in the 28th minute, setting up Simon Hedlun for Elfsborg’s second goal.

Värnamo fought back, with Wenderson Oliveira pulling one back just before halftime. Ajdin Zeljkovic equalized for the visitors in the 56th minute, securing a point for Värnamo.

Ghanaian youngster Jalal Abdulai also saw playing time for Elfsborg in the match. The draw leaves Elfsborg in 9th position on the Swedish top flight league table after the first round of fixtures. Their next challenge comes on April 7 when they face Västerås SK in another Allsvenskan encounter.
