The Black Princesses of Ghana pulled off a stunning comeback victory over defending champions Nigeria to claim the gold medal in the 2023 African Games Women’s Football Final on Thursday night. The final score was 2-1 after a nail-biting 120 minutes of play.

Nigeria drew first blood through Loveth Edeh in the 22nd minute. However, Ghana refused to be deterred. They mounted relentless pressure throughout the game and finally found the equalizer in the 77th minute thanks to a well-placed strike.
