Ghana’s Daniel Amartey Features in Besiktas Defeat to Antalyaspor

Ghanaian defender Daniel Amartey featured for Besiktas JK as they fell to a 2-1 defeat against Antalyaspor in the Turkish Süper Lig on Saturday.

The 29-year-old started the game in midfield for Besiktas but was substituted for Jackson Muleka at halftime.

Antalyaspor dominated the opening half, with Bunyamin Balci scoring in the 6th minute and Adam Buksa converting a penalty in the 38th minute. Besiktas managed to pull one goal back in the 46th mins through Ernest Muci, but it wasn’t enough to salvage a point.

The loss sees Besiktas remain in 4th place on the league table with 46 points after 30 matches. Despite the setback, Amartey has been a consistent presence for his club this season, making 26 appearances and scoring 1 goal since joining on a free transfer from Leicester City in the summer of 2023.
