Ghanaian Forward Joseph Paintsil Criticizes Belgian Referees for Bias

Ghanaian forward Joseph Paintsil has launched a scathing attack on Belgian referees, accusing them of bias and harming the integrity of the league.

His outburst follows a yellow card in Genk’s 1-1 draw against KV Mechelen, which brings his season tally to five and results in a one-match suspension.

“I’ll just say it: the referees in Belgium don’t like me,” Joseph Paintsil stated. “They are completely destroying the competition while they think they are doing it well.”

Despite his criticism, Paintsil maintained a professional demeanor, wishing the referees well and vowing to overcome their perceived bias. “I know they will be behind me again next match, but I am going to show them that I am still the same Paintsil,” he stressed.

Genk is currently placed 7th in the Belgian Pro League standings with 37 points after 23 matches. Joseph Paintsil’s absence in the upcoming match against RWD Molenbeek on February 17th could potentially impede their quest for a higher position in the league.
