George Afriyie disqualified from the GFA Elections

The Elections Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the disqualification of George Afriyie from the 2023 GFA presidential race.

The Vetting Committee stated that Afriyie’s application was rejected because he “failed to provide the required number of Ghana Football Association members to support your candidature” and “breached Article 13(2)(j) of the Ghana Football Association statutes, 2019.”

The statement continued by giving specific justifications for Afriyie’s disqualification and adding that he had three days to contest the ruling.

Should George Afriyie decide not to appeal, Kurt Okraku will then be contesting without an opponent .
