Jonina Football Academy visit former Ghana attorney general and Minister of Justice

Malta Guinness Women’s premier league newly promoted side, Jonina Football Academy visited the office of the former attorney general and minister of Justice, Hon Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong.

Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong is a Ghanaian female legal practitioner and a former attorney general and minister of Justice. She was appointed by former President Mahama  in 2013. She is the second woman to hold this office in the country, the first being Mrs. Betty Mould-Iddrisu. Her tenure as Attorney General of Ghana ended on 6 January 2017. She was appointed to serve on the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce from 1 July 2018 for a three-year term.She is Honorary Council Member of the Ghana Association of Restructuring and Insolvency Advisors (GARIA)

The team [Jonina] after that historical performance in the 2022/2023 GARA women’s division one Zone B and that wonderful performance at the GFA Regional women’s championship which qualify them into the premier league, today, Wednesday August 2, the team was at the office of Hon Marietta Brew Appiah-Oppong.

Hon Marietta Brew welcome the team with smiles all over her face and congratulate them on their wonderful performance throughout the season.

She [Hon Marietta Brew] encourage the girls to keep their training and everything serious and focus on the football because female football is now a big thing and if they want to go into any other profession, they should do and take that one too serious.

Eunice Kpenteey, the captain of the side spoke on behalf of the team and thank Hon Marietta Brew for her kind words and motivation.

“On behalf of my teammates, I say thank you for your kind words and motivations, we as a team together with the leadership of the team will do our possible best to make you proud madam” Eunice Kpenteey.

Hon Marietta Brew also promised to keep  supporting them to stay and do well in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League.
