On behalf of Annemarie van der Sar, we would like to provide an update on the current situation of Edwin van der Sar, the former football player and CEO of Ajax Amsterdam. Edwin has been repatriated from Croatia and is currently receiving medical care in the intensive care unit of a Dutch hospital.

Following his return from Croatia on Friday evening, Edwin’s condition remains stable and non-life-threatening. He is currently under close observation and is able to communicate. The Van der Sar family is profoundly grateful to the dedicated medical team at the ‘University Hospital of Split’ for their exceptional care during the past week.

In the coming days, Edwin will undergo further investigations and treatments while remaining in the intensive care unit. The family holds strong hope that his focus can shift towards a successful recovery once these initial medical assessments are completed.

The Van der Sar family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the overwhelming support and well-wishes they have received from fans, friends, and the football community worldwide. They kindly request privacy and understanding during this challenging time, allowing them to concentrate on Edwin’s recovery.
