GHANA is back on World Amputee Football activities

National Amputee Football Team

World Amputee Football Federation (WAFF) has lifted the ban on Ghanaโ€™s participation in all Amputee Football Activities. For about twelve years, Ghana’s amputee football team has been excluded from international competitions. The decision to lift the ban was made during an extraordinary congress held on April 29, 2023, and has been unanimously embraced by Ghana.

The President of the African Paralympic Committee and Ghana Paralympic Committee, Mr Samson Deen, and his team led Ghana in presenting a case for inclusion, and the country qualified for membership based on the new membership criteria.

Ghana is currently the African Amputee Football Champions since 2021, and the teamโ€™s involvement in the international games now would position us to the level we ought to be in the time past.

The Amputee Football Association of Ghana is planning to organize the Amputee Football Cup as part of its preparatory program. The lifting of the ban is a great relief and a positive feat for amputee football in Ghana.
