After winning the UEFA U16 youth development tournament in Serbia, the Ghana under 17 team Black Starlets led by Coach Abdul Karim Zito have also beaten Saudi Arabia’s U17 team 3-2 in a friendly. The two teams will play each other again on Thursday May 4, 2023. Ghana meanwhile ended the game with 10 players after Ali Umar was sent off.

Earlier in the month, the Ghana U-17 team had put off splendid performances in the UEFA U16 Development Tournament in Serbia winning the competition by beating Serbia 0-4, Spain 3-2 and Switzerland 3-2.

The Ghana team has shown a strong mentality with a straight, dominating and enforcing style of play, doing this at this age is a huge one for the Black Starlets and it’s technical team.

This is a great step for our National Teams rebuilding and it has to get on for the other level. The second game comes off on Thursday.

The Ghana  FA in a statement on its Media Handles has spoken about the engagement with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. The agreement aims to develop strong relations between the two as well to help the promotion, growth and succ

ess of football at all levels. A Memorandum of understanding was signed by the two football governing bodies in December last year.

The Ghana Football Association says it will continue to look for more International friendly matches for the team to give them the needed exposure and competitions ahead of future assignments.

The Saudi Arabian Football Federation also mentioned they are committed to hosting both the Ghanaian men and women for matches and training camps as well as exchanges for key experts across areas related to coaching, refereeing and  administrative matters.
