Match Report: Legon Cities salvage a point against Asante Kotoko

Legon Cities battled for a 1-1 stalemate against Asante Kotoko on match-week 24 of the Betpawa premier league. 

Quick start for the champions who attacked with their full backs in the opening minutes with John Tedeku’s whipper cleared out to a wasted corner kick by the host.

The Porcupine Warriors broke the deadlock hemselves into the lead on the 15th minute through captain Richard Boadu who scored from the spot.

Legon Cities came so close to levelling the score but skipper Nasiru Moro had his free kick saved by Frederick Asare- he pulled few more crucial stops to keep Kotoko’s lead intact heading into the break.

On the 57th minute, Brazilian striker Medeiros nipped on a defensive clanger to double Kotoko’s lead but his effort was tipped off to a wasted corner kick by goalkeeper Sylvester Sackey.
Legon Cities finally got the equalizer on the 70th minute through Alex Aso who scored with a beautiful finish to get his side back on level.
The host in the last ten minutes nearly put themselves in the lead for the first time in the game but were denied once again by Frederick Asare- who has been amazing throughout the game. Kotoko’s Richmond Lamptey was adjudged Most valuable player.
It ended 1-1 after full time in the capital.
