KUNTU BLANKSON CALLS ON GFA TO GIVE CHANCE TO PERFORMING COACHES LIKE JOHNSON SMITH

Kuntu Blankson wants the GFA to pay attention to performing coaches like Coach Johnson Smith.

Ace broadcaster Kuntu Blankson wants the Ghana Football Association to monitor coaches who are performing in the country. One of such coaches is Johnson Smith. The former Karela and Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach is currently with Skyy FC. Smith mastermind Karela’s invincibility at home in the Ghana Premier League and has been influential in every club he has coached.

“In the last 30yrs of my career as a broadcaster, the country has had great coaches in the past who achieved a lot for the state, coaches such as Charles kumi Gyamfi, Sam Arday, E.K Afranie, Herbert Addo, Sir Cecil Jones Attuquayefior all excelled in coaching at their various dispensation. Currently the nation can boost of performing coaches like Maxwell Konadu, Ibrahim Tanko, Paa Kwesi Fabian, Didi Dramani, Karim Zito, Sellas Tetteh, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, Yussif Basigi, James Kwesi Appiah and Johnson Smith”

Despite Johnson Smith’s competence Kuntu Blankson believe little credence has been given to him when it comes to coaching any of the national teams.

“Johnson Smith is doing marvelously well in the country for Daboase based Skyy FC, the team chances of qualifying looks promising in zone two of the Access Bank Division One League. After countless knocking at the doors of the premier league this year might be their season”

Kuntu Blankson also shared his thoughts on Smith’s style of coaching, tactics and strength.

On his style of coaching.

Teacher of the game is his hall mark. His philosophy of playing football can be taught as a subject and believe in possessive passing football system with a lot of fluidity and flamboyance ( Samba Football)”

On tactics

Tactically he is one of the best in the country. Skyy FC has the highest scoring performance across all the three zones with 31gls scored having conceded only 4.”

On strength

“He is the right coach capable of solving the nation’s goal scoring problem and the time is now”

Kuntu Blankson indicated that Smith’s ability to transform strikers can attest to his assertion. Prolific goal mongers like Eric Bekoe and Diawisie Taylor all worked with Johnson Smith in reaching their pump in the Ghana Premier League.

Currently Baba Musah have scored 10gls out of 17 games in the league. Another forward who is also doing well is Andrew’s Cobinnah have scored 8gls out of 4 games for Skyy FC.

Kuntu Blackson believe Johnson Smith is a national asset and can be of help to the nation in terms of producing talents from the juvenile national teams to the senior national teams.

Skyy FC have scored 31gls and conceded 4 after 16 games played.
