Bayern agree loan deal with Man City for Cancelo until end of season

Bayern Munich have agreed a deal with Manchester City for the transfer of Joao Cancelo on loan with a 70 million Euros buy option clause.

The former Juventus winger has lost favour in Pep Guardiola’s eyes in recent weeks, losing his place in the backline to 18-year-old academy starlet Rico Lewis.

John Stones, Kyle Walker, Aymeric Laporte have also been utilized as full backs over Cancelo who is rather known for his versatile nature.

Sky Italy journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that an agreement has been reached for the signature of the Portuguese from City, as Bayern look to reinforce their left back position despite signing Daley Blind recently.

“Bayern have completed the agreement to sign João Cancelo, here we go! Deal set to be completed on loan plus €70m buy option clause

Cancelo told Pep Guardiola that he wanted to leave. Medical tests later tonight”

For Bayern, the injuries of Lucas Hernandez and a possible departure of Benjamin Pavard to Barcelona paves way for the arrival of Cancelo and there is no doubt about the quality the Portuguese possesses.

Cancelo has himself two Premier League titles and has featured 154 times for City with 22 assists and 9 goals for the Citizens.
