CHAN 2022-Black Galaxies eliminated after 2-0 defeat to Niger

The Black Galaxies have been eliminated from the African Nations Championship (CHAN) after a 2-0 defeat in Algeria tonight

The match began with Ghana taking the game to Niger yet it was Niger who found the opener after 12 minutes after a cross into the box was wrongfully cleared into the Ghanaian net by Konadu Yiadom.

Ghana went on searching for the equalizer before the break with Abagna coming close yet his shot was wide off the goal.

The game went into the break with Niger leading the Galaxies despite countless efforts from Ghana to restore parity.

The second half saw Ghana press high for the equalizer and Hainkoye of Niger was perfectly placed on the left flank as he opened himself up to double the Niger’s lead on the night.

Ghana skipper Gladson Awako came on in the second half yet failed to get Annor Walker’s men back into the game despite Ghana keeping more of the ball in the second half.

Niger progress to the semi final of the competition and will take on Algeria for a place in the final of this year’s CHAN.
