Chelsea agree deal with RB Leipzig for Nkunku

Chelsea FC have finally agreed a deal with RB Leipzig for Christopher Nkunku according to sky sports journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The negotiation for a potential deal was in place since September and despite losing Timo Werner last summer, Chelsea look to introduce Nkunku to the fans at the Stamford Bridge to pair summer signings Raheem Sterling and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang at the end of the season.

The Bundesliga player of the 2021/2022 season looks forward to this new chapter in his career as well as working under former Brighton boss Graham Potter in June 2023.

It remains a doubt as to whether Nkunku will completely fit into Graham Potter’s plans as quickly as possible next season yet Chelsea’s current position on the Premier League table and their huge Champions League Round of 16 tie against 2013 German finalists Borussia Dortmund is one they would have liked to have Nkunku on.

Although the French international missed out on the ongoing Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, he managed to score as many as 35 goals and 20 assists came in all competitions last season and if he finds him form he could be instrumental for the blues next season.

Chelsea resume competitive action when they take on Bournemouth in the Premier League on December 27.
