CAF Confederations Cup: Prove your quality against ASR Bamako – Hearts of Oak legend tells players

Hearts of Oak legend, Sam Johnson has charged the players to prove their worth against AS Real Bamako in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Ghana Premier League powerhouse were humbled 3-0 defeat in the first leg of the second round of games in the preliminary round.

Hearts of Oak will have to score four goals or more to secure a place in the next round.

Ahead of the return leg game at the Accra Sports Stadium, Sam Johnson who played for the Phobians years back has charged the players to prove their worth against the Malian side.

“This is the time the players have to show what they have because, for the start of the season, things are or going on well,” he told Accra-based Radio Gold.

“This one also has come to make things more difficult for them but this is the time they have to show the kind of players they are we know they can do it but it’s not going to be easy.

“It’s going to be very tough because from the beginning we saw the coaching issues that started even before they went for the CAF Confederation Cup.

“And they came back with a very bad result and to score three after losing 3-0 away is not going to be easy.

“Let’s not forget also our motto that “Never Say Die, until the bones are rotten.”

“They have to show it this time, they can do it, Hearts of Oak have done it before so everyone needs to support them,” he added.

The game has been scheduled to kick off at 15:00GMT.
