Elmina Sharks were able to hold the home side, preventing them to score as they were also a threat upfront ending the first half by 0-0.

In the second half, Asante Kotoko introduced Sogne Yacouba to strengthen their attack as they in were dire need of a goal to amass all three points. Sogne Yocuba who was introduced in the game flew in a shot that was pushed out by Elmina Sharks goalkeeper resulting in a corner.

The visitors were distracted by the presence of Sogne Yacouba in the first five minutes after his introduction but Asante Kotoko couldn’t take advantage of it. They later regained their composure and tamed the wild attacking forces of Asante Kotoko.
