Match Report: Daniel Afriyie Barnieh nets consolation goal for Black Galaxies in defeat to Qatar

Hearts of Oak poster boy, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh was a standout performer for the Black Galaxies of Ghana on Tuesday during the friendly match against Qatar.

The Black Galaxies are in Austria where the team is holding a training camp to prepare for the final round of the qualifiers for the 2023 CHAN tournament.

As part of the preparations, the Ghana team has faced off with Qatar this evening in an international friendly match.

In a game staged at the Stadion Wiener Neustadt in Austria, Qatar needed just two minutes to take the lead.

Later in the 26th minute, the 2022 World Cup host scored again to double their lead before the first half break.

In the exciting contest that ensued in the second half, the Black Galaxies played some fine football and managed to net a consolation through talismanic attacker Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.

Unfortunately, that goal could not inspire a comeback as Ghana lost 2-1 to Qatar at the end of the friendly exercise.
