Ghana Premier League- Maxwell Agyemang’s heroic header seals Asante Kotoko 25th league title

Kumasi Asante Kotoko have won the 2021/2022 Ghana premier league tittle with three (3) more games to go following their 1:1 draw with Ashantigold at the Len Clay sports stadium.

The Porcupine warriors who were in need of just a point to clinch their 25th league title saw themselves trailing in the early minutes of the game as Yaw Annor went round three Asante Kotoko defenders to slot home the opener in the minute.

The miners had numerous chances to have doubled their lead but squandered all with the first half ending in a 1:0 win for AshantiGold.

Asante Kotoko came back into the game in the second half with the introduction of Emmanuel Keyeke and Fabio Gama as they came to stabilise the midfield.
Maxwell Agyemang rose high to head home the equaliser from Imoro Ibrahim’s cross to give the porcupine warriors the vital point needed to seal their league title.

With the draw, Asante Kotoko are now with 57points in 32matches, points clear second placed Bechem United with 3matches to end the season.
