EXCLUSIVE: Ghanaian winger Edwin Gyasi leaves Beitar Jerusalem amid financial difficulties

 

Ghanaian forward Edwin Gyasi has cut ties with Israeli top-flight side Beitar Jerusalem as the club face financial difficulties, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively confirm

Jerusalem’s President Moshe Hogeg has been arrested since November 2021 relation to crypto fraud and sex crime allegations.

The club’s finances have been dealt a huge blow by the arrest of the president leading to the release of Gyasi and other foreign players in the Jerusalem club.

The 30-year-old former Black Stars player has since parted ways with the club and is searching for a new destination this transfer window.

Gyasi has been approached by Hapoel Jerusalem, Hapoel Hadera and some other clubs in the Israeli second-tier have all been contacted the player over a possible transfer.

The former AZ Alkmaar U19 player was having a decent campaign at Jerusalem in the Ligat ha’Al until his departure.

He has played 19 matches in the Israeli top division this season where he has provided one assist in the process.
