Player Ratings : Ghana 2-3 Comoros – Daniel Kyere and Djiku impress as Ghana suffer elimination

 

Ghana suffered elimination in the Africa Cup of Nations following a 3-2 defeat against Comoros Island.

The Black Stars despite playing majority of the game with a man down put up a good fight on the day but wasn’t enough as they suffered group stage elimination in Garoua.

Andre Ayew was giving his marching orders just 25 minutes in the game after colliding with the Comoros goalkeeper

16. Jojo Wollacot (GK)- ( 5/10) – Another shaky performance from the goalkeeper. The Swindon goalkeeper conceded three goals on the day. Made some decent save on the day.

2. Andy Yiadom( 4/10)- played the game through a pain. Was solid defensively and kept the opponent quite on the right side.

17. Baba Rahman ( 4/10)- His lose marking led to Comoros first game. Didn’t do much in the game.Was withdrawn for Edmund Addo in the second half

23. Alexander Djiku ( 6/10)- What a game he had. Played his heart for the team but wasn’t enough. Scored Ghana’s equalizer with a simple tap in. Was rock solid at the back and also contributed much in the attack.

18. Daniel Amartey ( 5/10)- Caught off guide for Comoros first goal but recovered very well and played his heart for the team. Was solid on the day.

22. Kamaldeen Suleman ( 5/10)- Showed a lot of glimpses but once again was kept quiet in the game. Didn’t do much for the team. Dissapointing tournament for the promising lad.

5. Thomas Partey ( 5/10)- Came to the party but wasn’t enough as Ghana were outnumbered on the pitch. Showed a lot of class in the second half when Ghana went a man down.

9. Jordan Ayew (4/10)- Put in a lot of effort in the attack but nothing to show on the day. The Crystal Palace attacker had a tournament to forget.

15. Daniel Kyere (6/10) – He keeps getting better for the team Great game from the Union Berlin midfielder. Was everywhere on the pitch. Assisted Yiadom for Ghana’s first goal.

10. Dede Ayew ( 2/10)- started the game very well but was given an early shower after receiving his marching orders in the 20th minutes.

7″ Fatawu Issahaku ( 5/10)- The lad had a very good game. Tried his luck on several occasions but denied by the goalkeeper. Was very dangerous on the right side. Was Surprisingly taken off in second half.

Substitute

Edmund Addo ( 3/10)- Came in for Baba Rahman as Ghana switched to three back at the back. Addo was solid at the back and didn’t put any foot wrong in the game.

Richmond Boakye Yiadom( 4/10)- Scored to reduced Ghana’s deficit with a fine header. Caused a lot of problems to the Comoros defense.

Joseph Painstil ( 3/10)- Made some runs on the flanks but nothing to show.
