The long-awaited African cup of the nation is set to commence today 9th January in Cameroon.

COVID 19 outbreak hit various Groups as they prepare their African Cup of nations journey.

Burkina Faso have had 9 players and staff test positive for COVID-19, just before the #AFCON2021 opener against Cameroon.

9 players in the Senegal camp test positive;
Alfred Gomis, Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Saliou Ciss, Famara Diedhiou, Bamba Dieng, Pape Sarr, Baba Thiam, Nampalys Mendy.

Senegal takes on Group B opponents, Zimbabwe on January 10.

Guinea has confirmed 4 players tested positive for COVID-19

The players are Ibrahima Conte, Morgan Guilavogui, Fode Camara and Mory Konate

They take on Group B opponents, Malawi on Jan 10.

5 Burkina Faso players test positive; Abass Traore, Edmond Tapsoba, Soumaïla Ouattara, Saidou Simpore, Dango Aboubacar & Head Coach Kamou Mal. 3 other officials also tested positive.

They take on Group A opponents and host, Cameroon on January 9.
