Reason why Songné Yacouba is not part of coach Maxwel Konadu’s plans

Asante Kotoko head coach Maxwel Konadu has side lined their prolific striker Songné Yacouba due to reasons beyond the technical team. The head coach has stated emphatically the Burkinabe international will need to sort out his contractual issues with the management of  Asante Kotoko before he joins his team.

Contractual issues between Songné Yacouba and the Asante Kotoko management started last year as the Burkinabe international is not ready to sign another contract with the porcupine warriors until his demand of $150,000 is met by the management which the management can only offer $40,000.

The Kumasi Asante Kotoko head coach in an interview said:

“Yacouba is a good player by all standards but when I am managing a team and we have issues to settle, we need to sort those issues out before he can play”.

“We want him but we need to sit down and talk. Until then, Kotoko is a team and has to take certain decisions”.

“We left him out of the Hearts match because we felt he was not mentally focused”.

“Other than than, he is a good player and he a Kotoko player and we want him here but we need to talk to his agent and settle all issues before he can come back to the team.”

Kumasi Asante Kotoko will be playing their next game Liberty Professionals at the Kumasi Babayara Sports Stadium without Songné Yacouba.
