Laryea Kingston touts Kwadwo Asamoah as one of the greatest African footballers

Former Black Stars player Laryea Kingston has praised Inter Milan midfield general, Kwadwo Asamoah as one of the greatest footballers to emerge from the African continent.

The left-footed midfilder has had a wonderful career ever since he surfaced on the shores of Italy.

The outstanding performances he displayed during his stay at Udinese seduced management of Serie A giants Juventus into purchasing the talented midfielder in 2012.

Asamoah went on to win six consecutive Serie A titles, four Copa Italia trophies and Three Italian Super Cup trophies from 2013 to 2018 before joining rivals Inter Milan.

Laryea Kingston concedes that Kwadwo Asamoah’s ability on the ball has often been overlooked by some section of the football fans.

“Of course I will rank Kwadwo Asamoah among the greatest African players on the continent,” Laryea told Goal on Friday.

“He is someone we have underrated a lot, especially football fans. If you look at him, he has done very well in every team that he’s played in.

“Apart from Udinese, he’s played for some of the biggest clubs in the world, in Juventus and Inter Milan. At Juve, where he won a lot of league titles and played in the Champions League, he was playing regularly and consistently for two or three seasons.”
