2022 World Cup playoffs: I am ready for my Black Stars debut against Nigeria – Felix Afena-Gyan

AS Roma youngster Felix Afena-Gyan has said he is eager to make his Black Stars debut against Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup playoff games against Nigeria.

The 19-year-old is in Ghana’s 27-man squad for the crucial games following his impressive performance with the Serie A side.

With the Black Stars set to host the Super Eagles at the Baba Yara Stadium on Friday in the first leg, Afena-Gyan is eager to make his debut for the senior national team.

I am very much ready to make my debut for the Black Stars and I must tell you all that I am really happy with what I have seen so far in camp, having met my teammates for the first time,” Afena-Gyan told CompleteSports

“I can’t wait to play for Ghana and if called upon, I promise to give my very best to make sure that we win on Friday. It would be a dream come true to play at the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup,” he added.

Afena-Gyan, who has scored two goals in his 16 game outings for AS Roma in all competitions this season, is likely to lead the Black Stars of Ghana upfront against Nigeria on Friday.

Ghana will travel to Abuja for the return game scheduled for the Moshood Abiola Stadium on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.

The winner of the two legs will progress to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament
