2019/2020 French Ligue season cancelled

The 2019/2020 French league has been cancelled after the prime minister of France Édourd Philippe announced all sporting activities should hold on until the end of September.

The French Prime Minister in his statement said “The big sporting affairs cannot occur before September. The 2019/20 football season cannot return.”

The message by the prime minister has shocked the most of the stake holders of the league as the LFP has been finalizing medical protocols for the return of the league on May 11th.

Already, the players of the league are already going through covid-19 testing that was administered by their clubs.

The cancellation of the league means Paris Saint-Germain still remains the defending champions as no champion was declared in the 2019/2020 season due to the cancellation.
