10year old Matilda Assabil makes history as youngest ever female footballer to play in the Ghanaian Women’s league

The Starlets Ladies FC youngster made her debut in the Ghana Women division one league over the weekend, becoming the youngest female footballer to ever grace the field in the history of Women football in Ghana at age 10.

Matilda was handed the starting berth by her coach and lasted the entire duration for Starlets Ladies as they thrashed Nimobi ladies by 4:2 to record their first victory of the season.

Starlets Ladies FC plays in the Greater Accra Women Division one league and are at the bottom table with just 3points in 7games.
Matilda is a primary school student in the Tema metropolis and she dreams of becoming one of the best female footballers the nation has ever produced.
