Bernard Morrison,formerly of Young African football club of Tanzania has being declared not guilty of a protest filled against him by Yanga club prior to his switch to arc rival Simba fc.
Morrison, despite having a successful spell with the Tanzania giant, later in August 2020 made a shocking move to most rival Simba.
This was seen in particular when Yanga were hammered by 4-1 to Simba in an FA cup match ahead of the start of the ABC league and amidst that encounter Morrison, who was substituted, walked straight to the tunnel without returning to the club for about two weeks before the end of the past season leading him loggerheads with the former.
Pushing for exit, he joined the latter club the following season which as a matter of fact ended a tussel between both clubs where after Simba had announce the capture of the Ghanaian international, Yanga issued a report to debunk the acquisition of the player as false.
Letter from Simba as at then on their official website :
“Bernard [Morrison[ has signed a two-year contract to join Simba,” the club stated on their official website.
“Morrison has shown he is a great player since signing for Yanga for the last season and from now on he will don the red jersey for Simba and he becomes our first signing this transfer window as we strive to build a strong squad for the Caf Champions League campaign.”
However, Yanga denounce such rumour by saying :
“The leadership of Yanga have seen stories and rumours going round in social media which has unsettled our fans and the followers at large,” stated the statement from Yanga seen by SoccaNews.com
“Yanga is following keenly and closely the transfer revolving around Morrison to Simba and tough disciplinary action will be taken against those who violated the set rules.
“We want to clarify and state here clearly that Morrison has a contract with the club running until 2022 and the case is already in the hands of TFF, who will listen to the same on Monday.”
Taking the matter to the the court of arbitration of sports, the federation has today the 22nd day of november 2021, dismissed Young Africans sports club appeal against Sekondi – Takoradi asset for wrongly singing for Simba.
Morrison, is a former player of Kpando Hearts Of Lions,Ashanti Gold,AS Vita club, Orlando Pirates, DC Motema Pembe. He is currently having two year contract with Simba football club.
